B&W photo of Hoonah, Alaska before the fire of 1944 which destroyed much of Hoonah, including many priceless Tlingit cultural objects. The United States federal government assisted in rebuilding Hoonah. In 2010 a fire and subsequent series of explosions destroyed the Icy Strait Lumber Mill.
