Letter from Major Chris Buchanan, Territorial Youth Secretary, Western Territory, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA., to All Divisinal Commanders and Command Heads. The letter was in regards to the Centennial Congress - Children's program. Because of the limitied child care facilities, emphasis was on discouraging parents from bringing children to the Congress. This information will need to be disseminated to the field immediately.

B&W photo of a group of six (6) cadets, of the Disciples of Jesus Session, 1976-1978, shown entertaining a senior citizens group. Two of the cadets were playing guitars. The group of women seniors were seated at a table listening to the cadets. Another table was partially visible but was empty. A piano was located in the corner on the right side. Credit for the photo to Cadet Peter Turner. The gentleman on the far right is Dennis McBride then Lieutenant. The gentleman on the far left is Bill Hiselman, than cadet. Beside him is John Reed playing guitar. The cadet standing next to Dennis McBride is Capt. Dan Starrett, who was the Corps officer in Yakama, WA, where this picture was taken in 1977. A full page announcement in the Las Vegas Review-Journal dated Tuesday August 28th, 1951, inviting the public to an open house at the new Salvation Army building located at 10 Stewart Street. Included under this catalog item is a program for the dedication services for the building held on Sunday August 26th.
