  6. A black and white photograph of six of the "splendid seven." The term "splendid seven," refers to the seven female Salvationists who first came to the United States of America on March 10,1880. The women were led by George Scott Railton, and their group's arrival in New York made them the first officially authorized Salvation Army forces to reach the American continent. In the photograph, three of the women are seated in a row, while the other three stand behind them. All three of the seated women are holding books and/or papers. Modified American flags flank the group on either side.
